The Approach
Following successful partnerships on both COP28 and Union Day 52 show, The Bulb were appointed by People&Co. to create their internal approach to managing environmental and social impacts. We worked with the team to produce their first global sustainability strategy and operational plan to support the agency’s aim to deliver positive change through their work.
- A robust Materiality Assessment, understanding the competitive landscape and the social and environmental sustainability issues important to stakeholders.
- Produced The Change Plan: People&Co.’s sustainability strategy and a ten-year roadmap with ambitious and measurable targets across ‘People’, ‘Planet’ and ‘Partnerships’ pillars.
- Calculated the organisation’s baseline carbon footprint, identifying the carbon hotspots and setting a Net Zero target of 2040.
- Produced a detailed Implementation Plan (with an Action Tracker) to operationalise The Change Plan and turn intent into action.
- Hosted two company-wide workshops which resulted in the team’s understanding and confidence in sustainability doubling from the start of contract to end.
- A bespoke toolkit to embed sustainability best practice into their everyday work with confidence, including a practical guide called, ‘The Change Book’.
- Creation of an internal team of passionate champions called, ‘Changemakers’ who will drive support and compliance across the business and client projects and track and report on progress.
- Every team member will make a ‘Change Pledge’ – a personal commitment to improve the way they work in support of The Change Plan.
