The Approach
The Bulb were appointed as the trusted sustainability partner for Jack Morton, one of the world’s largest event and experiential events agencies. They deliver memorable experiences and activations for many of the world’s biggest household brand names. We developed and implemented their global approach to sustainability through creating measurable goals and targets, a reporting framework, an operational plan and a bespoke digital toolkit for their network.
Our Approach
- We carried out a robust Materiality Assessment and led a two-day workshop with Jack Morton’s global Executive Team to help them establish their sustainability goals and operational planning and vision. This was used as a foundation for the strategy we then went on to create.
- Audited Jack Morton’s global offices and provided recommendations for infrastructure improvements to lower environmental impact.
- The Bulb developed a unique Sustainability Strategy tailored to Jack Morton’s ethos and strategic goals, called the, ‘PLANET Plan’.
- To align with globally-respected Interpublic Group’s (IPG) Science Based Targets initiative, we set goals and interim targets based on the insights of our Materiality Assessment, with a headline goal of, ‘Net Zero, Zero Waste by 2040’.
- The above was supported by a phased Implementation Plan and best-practice governance processes to support the ‘PLANET Plan’, including ongoing data-gathering, documentation and reporting.,
- Trained a network of 60 PLANET Ambassadors – selected from across the globe – to lead the PLANET Plan within their region, and partnered with Climate EQ to develop a bespoke and accredited Carbon Literacy Training course.
- The Bulb designed and oversaw a Pilot Program for the cutting-edge event-specific carbon calculator, TRACE. This informed the development of a Toolkit and Training to support strategy roll-out, operationalisation and subsequent positive impact.
- We created inspiring and engaging content for Jack Morton’s the PLANET portal, an online digital playbook to support employees in understanding and embedding sustainability best practice in their own roles.
- We supported the global Communications team with their strategy launch. This included developing key messaging that addressed any reputational risk as well as maximising positive opportunities to grow Jack Morton’s reputation for sustainability leadership.
